Southampton House of Prayer (SoHOP) is a prayer initiative organised by Christians from across all churches.
We have set our hearts on moving towards God every day, and we are learning to pray in all kinds of ways for our city, our nation, and our world.
We believe that Jesus is the hope for our city. We are dedicated to seeking Him in prayer.
We are here to help YOU pray too! We will serve the church of Southampton by creating times and spaces for people to come and pray.
Since the advent of the covid-19 pandemic, these times and spaces are mostly online, but we also have a structure of small houses of prayer (small-HOPs) that makes it easier to gather to pray.
Southampton House of Prayer is organised by a community of Christians from a range of churches in Southampton. Through the Holy Spirit we live in the love of our heavenly Father because Jesus Christ died for our sins.
We began our journey in 2018, and hosted our first prayer room from January 2019. We have developed links with the 24-7 Prayer family and in November 2020 were officially recognized and commissioned to serve Southampton in prayer.
The community is led by Richard and Kathy Pitt who are supervised locally by the leadership of City Life Church.
NHS Prayer Line: we have a team of people praying. Text us if we can pray for anyone in the NHS at this time.
During the corona-virus pandemic we have some resources to help you pray at home.
Pray 168 – We are joining with Christians of all denominations to make a continuous wave of prayer and worship across Southampton. See Pray 168.
